Chief of the Indonesian National Police Pinned as an Honorary Citizen of the Marines

The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Admiral Yudo Margono pinned the Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Bambang Soesatyo, Chair of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, Chief of Police Republic of Indonesia, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the entire Chief of Staff of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, as honorary citizens of the Marine Corps.

“In the context of being awarded as an honorary citizen of the Marine Corps, the Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly, the Chairperson of the House of Representative Council, the Chief of the Republic of Indonesia Police, the Chief of the Army Staff, the Chief of the Navy Staff, the Chief of the Air Force Staff were carried out this afternoon through an amphibious assault as the main task of the Marines in combat is starting from the landing followed by the movement of the attack on land. I emphasize this for the services that have contributed to the progress of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, especially the Navy National Army and including the Marine Corps,” said Yudo on Pulau Damar Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta , Tuesday, January 24th, 2023.

After receiving the pinning, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that being an honorary member of the Marine Corps is a matter of pride for both himself and the National Police institution. Remembering, said Sigit, a Marine soldier has a very difficult task in protecting the sovereignty of the Indonesian nation.

On the other hand, Sigit reiterated that, as the Chief of the National Police, and Police personnel, the blood of the Indonesian National Armed Force flows in his body. Remember, Sigit was born into a family with a military background.

“I always say, I became a police officer and currently, I am the National Police Chief. However, the Indonesian National Armed Force blood, flows in my blood and that will strengthen the solidity and synergy between the Indonesian Nation Armed Force and Indonesian National Police, in the future it will be even stronger and better,” said Sigit on the same occasion.

According to Sigit, the appointment of an honorary member of the Marine Corps completes the beret pinned on him. Among them, honorary citizens of Army Strategic (Kostrad), Hiu Kencana brevet, and pinned on the Red Beret and Command Brevet from Special Forces Commando (Kopassus).

Sigit emphasized that with this embedding it was not merely ceremonial. Rather, it is a form and evidence of increasingly solid synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Force and Indonesian National Police in maintaining security, order and maintaining the unity and integrity of the Indonesian Nation.

“This certainly shows the synergy and solidity between the Indonesian National Armed Force and Indonesian National Police is getting stronger and stronger day by day,” said Sigit.
